Tiny Tinis: The New Summer Flavours Are Here

If you have been to Southside Shake, there is a good chance you already know about the Tiny Tinis. If you have not, here is the idea: a flight of three mini martinis, made to order, so you get more than one and actually have something to compare. No committing to a single glass and wondering what you are missing.

The flight comes with three cocktails, and right now there are six flavours on the menu to choose from. You pick three, we make them fresh, and they come out together so you can taste them side by side.

What Is a Tiny Tinis Flight?

The Tiny Tinis started from a simple premise. No serious gin lover should ever have to commit to just one. The same logic applies to cocktails. A flight format lets you explore, and it makes for a better experience than ordering the same drink twice.

Each flight is three cocktails. The current menu gives you six options, which means the combinations are genuinely interesting to think through. Some people go for three that share a flavour direction. Others go for contrast. Both approaches work.

Why We Do Seasonal Flavours

Part of what keeps the Tiny Tinis interesting is that the menu is not fixed. We rotate seasonal flavours in and out based on what is in season, what we are working with behind the bar, and honestly, what we are excited about. It keeps the menu fresh and gives regulars a reason to come back and try something new.

The core six stay on the menu year-round. The seasonal additions sit alongside them for as long as the season holds. Summer is the most obvious time to push flavours that are brighter, bolder, and a little more unexpected, which is exactly what we did this time around.

This Summer's Lineup

The three new summer flavours are spicy guava, blood orange, and toasted coconut. Each one is different enough to work well in a flight together, but they all fit the same warm-weather moment.

Spicy Guava

This one has heat. The guava brings a tropical sweetness that reads almost floral at first, and then the spice settles in at the end. It is not aggressively hot, but you will feel it. It works especially well if you like cocktails that have some movement to them rather than sitting flat on the palate.

Blood Orange

Blood orange has a sharpness that regular citrus does not. The colour is part of it too. It is a visually striking cocktail and the flavour backs it up. You get the brightness you expect from orange, but with more depth and a slight bitterness that stops it from being too sweet. Clean and confident.

Toasted Coconut

Toasted coconut is the most layered of the three. Toasting changes the flavour significantly compared to fresh or sweetened coconut. It brings a warmth and a slight nuttiness that pairs well with gin botanicals. It is not a dessert cocktail. It sits closer to something smooth and complex than something sweet.

Together, these three cover a lot of ground. The spicy guava has the kick. The blood orange brings the brightness. The toasted coconut rounds it out with something more unexpected than you might expect going in.

These flavours are here for the season. Come in, pick your three, and find out which one you end up wishing was full-sized!
